Ate here early Friday night. It was GREAT! I see some reviews on here about the red baskets some food are served in but this didn’t bother us at all, the duck spring rolls and the chicken wings were delicious!

We went for my partners birthday which happened to be on Father’s Day and we had an excellent time! Our server was polite and had character. She asked me if I was a Father as they were giving a free beer to Fathers. I laughed and said no, however, my partner joked I was soon to become a step-dad! The server said that qualifies!

Second time dining at Lucky Bee in Ettalong. First time was okay but had a few menu items unavailable and didn’t want to review after one visit.

Great food. A little pricey but good none the less. Sichuan Snapper was great as was the beef cheek curry.

Good food but way overpriced and poor service. $31 for two tiny bao buns?? And there is a misleading sign outside advertising lunch specials – but the heading “lunch specials” is barely visible. We asked for the dessert menu after finishing our meal, which the waitress acknowledged and then never came back. We were one of two tables in the restaurant and they had two front of house staff on so it’s not like they were too busy to attend to us – they were both killing time by wandering around straightening cutlery on the empty tables. We waited half an hour and no one even came to offer us more drinks or otherwise check that we were being looked after. We also saw the waitress get the drink order of the man next to us wrong. After that, getting slapped with a 15% Sunday surcharge felt pretty rich.

When I have a disappointing experience at a restaurant, my approach is to give direct feedback rather than posting a public review. However, if you check the online reviews you may understand my reticence. I anticipate the owner will make this personal and ridicule me, my occupation, my appearance, my facial expression or whatever his abuse du jour may be.

Went there last night to celebrate my sons 21st, just a small family gathering of nine. First of all the service was friendly and a nice atmosphere. The food was ok but really just finger food and hard to fill us all. Then came the bill.

Came here today for my birthday lunch. Have been so keen to try this place for so long but left feeling a little underwhelmed and annoyed. The waitress advised the mains where substantial sizes and designed to share. The first meal we received was the Singapore prawns. We where a group of 4 and it was a little awkward to find there where only 7 prawns in total. Given that that’s really all the dish consisted of with some sauce, i felt really horrible that my mum just got one measly prawn on her plate. The San Choy Bow was definitely a better size and nice but easily something I could have whipped up quickly at home when I don’t feel like cooking. The beef cheek was the last of the meals, this was the only amazing and memorable dish we tried today. Even after mentioning the uneven amount of prawns to the waitress, they did nothing to rectify the issue and just kind of said… “oh ok”. Like how hard is it to chuck one extra prawn on. I’m sure it won’t break the bank given that they are so cheap at the moment. The music was too loud also which ruined the atmosphere as we couldn’t comfortably talk and hear each other. I don’t think we will be rushing back in a hurry. At least I can say we’ve been there and done that. It was mostly just…. “meh”
