Social Profile:

At The French Pan Tree we are working on a short based menu, which means never having a set menu. An average of 4 entrées, 4 mains, 2 desserts is what you will find at our restaurant while constantly changing and evolving depending on the season, the Chefs inspiration, or what he can source from our local suppliers. Chef Charly and his team have adapted a pleasant activity where once a week they set off to buy the best of the organic fruits, vegetables and flowers from the Yamba Farmers Market & from friends veggies gardens. Our seafood comes straight off the local trawlers to guarantee the best for our customers while staying loyal and supporting the local community.

Fabulous food with a new menu with a slightly Mauritian influence. Charle, who is just back from a gig designing a new menu for a Sofitel, is talented and creative. The owners and staff work incredibly hard to deliver perfection in this amazing gem of a restaurant. Delightful and slightly funky ambiance. Unmissable. Vaut bien le détour.

We had the most wonderful evening here, and the food, wine, and service was exceptional. After dining at most of the best restaurants in Melbourne, this was such a big surprise to experience fine French dining in Yamba. We couldn’t choose between entrees, so we had all four of them, and they were individually excellent. The “finest rosé in the world” was pretty close to its claim and we had a wonderful Burgundy with our pork main. All round, highly recommended!!

Great find for really good food. They accommodated a garlic allergy readily and with style. Not cheap but worth the money. The snapper was superb , moist inside crispy outside. The bouillabaise innovative, fresh and delicious. The creme brulee (deconstructed) was delightful and delicious. Can’t wait until they extend the dessert menu. Waitstaff efficient and helpful. We wish them well.

Superb!!!! As always! This beautiful little gem in Yamba has never disappointed. Charly is a very talented chef and his food surprises and delights the senses… The food is nothing short of exquisite and the service warm and friendly. We are so lucky to have such a passionate young couple bringing such elegant and refined food to Yamba.

We have just had a stunning meal at The French Pan a Tree. Service friendly and attentive. All courses were just delicious. The shoulder of piglet a standout as was the confit of duck too. Chocolate mousse with crumb, purée and ice cream, to die for! $50 for 3 delicious courses excellent value..or $40 for two. We’ll definitely be back on our return to Yamba.

French cuisine finally hits the north coast. The boy can cook and the waitress can move around tables like an elegant dancer loving her craft. Two artisans splashing their skills in Yamba. We are very very lucky to have them in our midst. A new reason to visit this countries sunniest and most lovable beachside town.

Really tasty food, tastefully presented. Service attentive, efficient, but not all that…accurate. Felt like they were in a hurry to get us out, even at 9.15 -three courses in one and a quarter hours. Presented us with the bill just as we were contemplating an apertif. Didn’t get the apertif , or dessert wine we ordered. Don’t seem to serve coffee or tea.

The mains, while too salty salty for my taste, are sized so that three courses doesn’t become and exercise in hedonism. Elsewhere they would steal the show, but here the Charcuterie, entré and one of the deserts in particular (white chocolate moose) are what really shines. Skillfully balanced delicate flavors with beautiful presentation. The chef mentioned that he uses fresh local produce and the menu is changed frequently to by availability, I’m keen to visit again to see what he does with another season. Keeping in mind that my tastes tend toward the Francocentric, this gem is well worth a detour to Yamba.
