I go here for the rice bowl (1 meat, 3 veggies). Everything I’ve had so far has been divine. If you love pork, especially pork belly, then this place is a must try. The pork belly pieces literally melt in your mouth. You know the food is good when you do a little dance after every bite. Good value for money and very satisfying and filling. 5 stars!

This is our usual takeout spot for lunch or dinner, we usually go for their all you can eat for Saturday lunch which is great and recently we ordered dinner for a function at home the meal was very delicious. The portions were perfect sizes and hygienic. The hot butter garlic cuttlefish was a star of the night. Their nasi goreng is also very nice. Very friendly and a pleasant place to visit. The rice and curries are authentic Sri Lankan. Loved almost every dish here.

Egg fried rice with hot buttered cuttlefish is more than a reasonably big portion you get for the value you pay. I got loads of cuttlefish to eat with egg fried rice and the steamed vegetables bring the taste to an entirely new level. I enjoyed every bit of this mouthwatering dish and it was like 2 meals for the day. Overall, I was extremely happy with the presentation, value, temperature, and taste. I have got nothing more to say. I would enjoy this meal again sometime.

Flying Chef is one of the great Sri Lankan restaurants in Melbourne with rising popularity, and I have been a regular customer who visits the restaurant several days a week since its inception. Chef Dinesh has never failed to amaze me with different varieties of food, especially with traditional cuisine. With Shirmila’s gesture of warm welcome, it has always been a fantastic experience for me to try every meal in the menu. I am pretty sure that I have tried out more than 90% of their meals. Nasi goreng and sea food rice are my favourite. My colleagues, who are native Australians, Thai and Burmese, are also huge fans of Flying Chef Food. There is no doubt in that a new customer becoming a loyal customer, like what happened to me. If you are not convinced enough, try one of their meals and you will feel the difference.
