Passion, love, family and food could simply describe The Etna. Orazio and Lauretta have poured their lives into creating food and an experience for their loyal following and new customers alike. It all started with two brothers from Sicily who don’t just cook food but live it. They started a small humble restaurant with no idea how much people would love their food and restaurant atmosphere… so The Etna was born.

A delightful eatery delivering an extensive menu of high quality food. My three companions and I each chose something different and were impressed with our meals. Service was a bit patchy on this busy Saturday night and larger premises would help in making it feel less crowded. Given the number of customers braving the cold to eat outside, The Etna would have no trouble filling extra space inside. Booking is essential and preferably by phone as online has issues. Delicious food and a great night was had by all.

Service, pizzas and pasta were good but we were super thirsty afterwards for the whole evening. So strange how they don’t serve table water and you must buy bottled water if you want a drink (first place I’ve ever been to in Australia like this) Got myself a ginger beer from the fridge and realised it was Aldi brand.

We ordered at 5.30 and received our main at 6:40. At 6:20 I saw a staff member to ask what was happening as people who’d arrived after us had eaten and left. At 6:20 their reply was it was cooking. At 6:30 I followed up again to a separate staff member, who said she’d follow up (she never returned to let us know the outcome). At 6:40 the food finally came out without a single apology for forgetting us. We had to rush to eat it as we had our son to collect from a bday party at 7 up the road (thinking arrival at 5:30 would allow us ample time to eat). Because of the delay, this added to the inability to enjoy the meal. We went to pay and asked for a discount given the poor service we’d received and were outright told no. No solutions offered, no care or even empathy offered. Just all about the money and the F you to us. Even though the food was fair, will never recommend as service is as important. If you can’t run a restaurant, don’t have one.
