Good but not great. Menu looked great, but didn’t quite deliver. Nothing was bad, but nothing stood out. Food was quite slow, especially for a quiet night, but service was friendly and attentive.

I live this place. A slightly elevated take on a traditional Mexican restaurant with delicious margs and an extensive menu. The tacos while quite small (2 bites) are still the draw card for me, and again slightly elevated from the traditional street variety, think medium rare steak in an asada and pork belly in an al pastor, still delicious. The house hot sauce is a bit mild so if you like that extra kick make sure to ask for the hot hot sauce Friendly service and a modern and vibrant dining room, with additional back room and street seating options

The tacos were not bad at all with my favourite being the chicken. I didn’t enjoy the taste of the tortillas which was quite strong and masked the taste of all the ingredients within each taco. I found the empanada to be overpriced ($10 for 1) and not worth the price and unfortunately the corn a completely disappointment. Lathered in way too much sauce and also not cooked enough. Service was prompt and friendly and really kind – which made a massive difference to the night.

this is my most favourite restaurant in all of Carlton, close by the pit of despair and Leggo’s pasta sauce that is Lygon street is Taquito, kissing the pavement of Drummond street is this cheery, Mexican with an Aussie local flair Mecca. The vibes are immaculate, the food is a smorgasbord of ever changing fresh flavours, meat and vegetarian friendly, sinfully moorish share plates and a whole liquor store to make you all the spicy margs you could ever want. Perfect for first dates, group dates, eating dates? Just everything. One billion stars.
