I’d never been to a japanese restaurant before this. The entrees were yummy. The fish cakes had a lot of flavour and were overpowering at first, but then I wanted more. Veg spring rolls are good.

What a delightful, quaint Japanese restaurant. My partner and I felt the quality of food, service and attention to detail was FAR above all competition in Hervey Bay. Our tempura entrees were very exciting and the egg/eel temaka sushi roll was a brilliant combination of fresh ingredients. Our only disappointment was the advertising of the sukiyaki special, we felt it implied $38 for two. However, we found out, at the till, that it was $38 each and our hearts sank. The menu also had very few images of the dishes so we needed to google translate non-stop to make sense of it. We had a great time overall, and would recommend to others.

Such a great little place. Lovely atmosphere, service was good. Food was fresh and delicious. Best tea in the Bay. Not outrageously expensive. Super cute all round and the staff were lovely.

Everything from the food, to the staff to the service was amazing. We where just passing through and looking for somewhere to eat for dinner and did not expect to stumble upon this gem. The food was really fresh and presented well. If we are ever back in the area we will be stopping back in

A great gem that does great Japanese cuisine. Note that this is a soft opening and the wait staff are still training, but still a good experience with some patience. Been a couple times and plan to come back, food has great flavour and is a good size. Love it.

Great location but even better food. The food is high quality, authentic and the flavours are amazing. The presentation of the meals was beautiful. They have a wide variety of beverages from bubble tea, Japanese beers, cocktails and of course, sake.

The food was really fresh and tasty but the service was the worst I’ve experienced in a long time. We walked in twice, without acknowledgement. The first time, we decided to come back after a walk, but the second time we stood at the counter for 5 minutes whilst a server did his best to avoid eye contact and the man behind the counter did the same. After a while, we decided to seat ourselves and get our own menus. We sat for 10 minutes wondering how to order as no one had said hello yet, and eventually went up to the counter to try and ask. I was told that they usually do table service but I could order at the counter. In this time, two other tables also remained unserved. I finally ordered and the other tables gave up waiting for a server and went to the register too. I felt particularly bad for one couple who waited another 30 minutes just for their drink to arrive and still had not received any food (or communication from the staff) an hour later when we left. It is not difficult to say hello to your customers and let them know that you’ll be with them shortly, or even take them to a table and offer them some water and menus. Neither waiter did this, instead choosing to walk past us repeatedly whilst we stood awkwardly at the counter. Overall, it was not a great first impression after hearing such wonderful things about this restaurant.
