We had a delightful lunch at Steels Gates. It was busy in the restaurant and the wine tasting area seemed to have people trickling through quite often. So I would highly recommend booking in advance. I thought the experience was priced fairly as the food was exceptional. Each dish was a work of art in relation to presentation and the taste experience matched. We selected mixed entrees an I selected the Tasmanian Salmon and found it delightful. Mains were Duck, Lamb and Barramundi and all were enjoyed by our friends. I also had Creme Brulee for dessert, yum. Wines are fairly priced and we chose the 2019 Chardonnay (Melba Block) and the Shiraz. Both were very nice. Our host was Brad, was excellent as was the rest of the staff. Parking is plentiful. We will be back.

Great winery and restaurant. We spontaneously stopped on our way to Geelong and were hoping to get some wine and food. And food and wine we got. Amazing wines and cheese platter. The restaurant building is very modern and beautiful, showing great artwork and a nice view over the vineyard.

Had our wedding here end November – and it’s perfect for a small intimate wedding with helpful service (shout out to brad) and great environment !! It’s a very pretty yet intimate spot (not like one of those large commercial places).

A friend and I were lucky enough to be in the Valley for Friday Wine Down last month and thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Steels Gate. They’ve created a lovely environment and the atmosphere was relaxed and warm with couple, friends and families all enjoying their night out. The food was delicious and we enjoyed a couple of their wines with dinner too. Heartily recommend!

Steels Gate staff made our experience one to remember. The service by Jarrod was absolutely amazing. His knowledge of the Steels Gate produce is second to none. The atmosphere in the venue was really enjoyable and the food was high quality. Love the outlook over the winery via the beautiful dining room windows. We chanced upon this boutique winery on the way back to Melbourne from a weekend away at Mount Buller. It was such a lovely restaurant to unwind after an activity filled weekend with beautiful winery surrounds and artistic restaurant interior. we were well taken care of upon arrival – service was warm and professional. The restaurant accommodated children which was much appreciated – our kids had colouring menus, lovely fish and chips and a generous serve of ice cream. We had the 3 course meal, and every dish was beautifully presented and delicious and worth the price. Some of us opted for the $10 wine tasting menu with our food which was such a great experience too. The Sparkling Chardonnay was a personal favourite so got two bottles home at the end of the meal. All 7 of us agreed that it was a perfect way to end our weekend. We will be back !!

What a great afternoon. The food is spot on, especially for the price point and the wine tasting goes nicely with it. The wine selection is varied to cater for all tastes and very reasonably priced. Will definitely be a regular place to visit.
