This restaurant is incredibly discriminatory. I took a client with a disability here and a man named Jolly tried to deny us access because I didn’t want to purchase food but my client did. I explained I was here to support my client and that she has a companion card and that denying her access because I don’t have money to spend is discriminatory. He then charged us for her food. 5 mins later he came over to our table standing over us speaking in a raised tone. He stated “you don’t know discrimination” he said that I was “disgusting and aggressive”. At no point did I say anything remotely aggressive or raise my tone at all. I was not the one being discriminated against in that situation which is something he could not comprehend. This poorly impacted my client. My client should be able to access community with support without hassle. The only person who became aggressive was this man and it resulted in extreme anxiety for my client. This experience was horrible. While he was being aggressive towards us I asked for a refund for food so we could leave and my client would not have to be subjected to that level of aggression and confrontation. He denied us a refund and told us we have to wait for food after he had yelled at us infront of everyone in restaurant. Numerous witnesses asked if we were okay following this event because this man was out of control. To behave that way towards a vulnerable person is disgusting. To deny a disabled persons support worker access to your restaurant because they don’t have money to purchase food is discriminating against the individual with a disability who cannot attend the restaurant alone. People need to do better. Extremely disappointing experience.

My partner ordered a meal here while we went shopping and I met him back here with food from elsewhere – dietary requirements. I hadn’t even started eating before the owner came and said he can’t have ‘outside food’ in the restaurant, we can’t sit at the seats outside either because it’s all their seating. No real reason given and it’s not like no money had been spent there to sit there. We had to both leave unless we wanted to eat seperate. Pretty mean.

Usually the North Lakes coffee shop is fantastic, but since the new owner took over, he needs to learn the words, “customer service.” I had a free coffee and instead of asking me if I wanted to use it, he just took it off my bill. I use my free coffee’s on my off pay week. When I asked him why he did that, he wanted to know why I wanted to keep the “freebie.” Felt like say it was none of his business.

I like the vides of the restaurant overall, although the food was kinda unsatisfying especially the breakfast part of the menu i ordered the goodness bowel and it has no salt whatsoever I understand that it’s optional but it was a bit disappointing the tomatoes in the actually dish was kinda soaked too much so I didn’t like the taste.

Kristy and the rest of the team are AWESOME the food was fresh, the chips were fresh. I ordered a beef burger with chips. The burger has so much flavour was juicy and vegetables were fresh. The store was clean and tidy. I was served by Kristy the store leader and she treated me with respect and always had a smile on her face. All the staff were happy and always had a smile on their face.
