Randomly stumbled across this place and we will definitely come back. Amazing Donburi and also a lot of vegetarian options!

Very authentic Japanese cuisine and some exceeded expectations by a lot!! Though not all food was extraordinary, the gyoza was pretty average. Food was overall great but jazz music really gave me anxiety when I’m having sushi.. and the scent could improve it smells like soggy wood upon entrance which takes away a bit of appetite. Price was on the higher side but quite worth it for the quality of food. I am surprised that I only came to discover this place after years and years of eating at Vic park every day.. but I will be back, they got the sake tastings that we wanna try next time!

Interesting place. We came for early dinner, kids wanted sushi, but this place s out of sushi rice. That aside, kudos to the chef, trying his best to prepare good Japanese dishes. The waiter too, was doing her best to welcome everyone, do the clean up, take orders and serve food. She was looking exhausted but still doing her best waiting tables. Authentic? Yes but i ve tried other japanese chefs’ food too so i can say, to be fair, food here is alright. Serving is still small (that’s japanese serving) even though the menu reads ‘big serving’. Price wise, yes it’s pricey for the taste but then again i ve been to other japanese places where we paid 500 for a family of four (dinner) – prepared by Japanese chefs too. So, yea, again, this place is okay. Atmosphere is a bit gloomy. Good for long chit chat with friends. Great for families and couples too. There s always room for improvement of course & we wish the chef (s) and the entire Senoji team good luck.

The only thing I could say is that the okonomiyaki was good. Food taste good but not enough to cover for the odd things about the place.

So, my wife made a booking at 2pm for 4 people at 6pm on the same day (for her and I, and our daughters). We walk in and I give my wife’s name for the booking and are immediately lead to a table. Suddeny, what I can only assume is the chef or owner, or both, comes charging up to our table demanding to know if my name is Mark. Answer is no and he starts accusing us of not having a booking and that this table is set up for someone else. We tell him I had told the staff the name of the booking and that we were directed here. Now he starts challenging our booking instead. My wife tells him the site she used and he then begins rambling about how they don’t take bookings from that site after 5.30 (because we obviously know this fact…). My wife shows him the booking made at 2pm, not 5.31pm. Without a word of apology for his rude and aggressive behaviour he tells us we can move to another table…we decided to leave at that point instead. We didn’t want to spend a cent there and with our eldest now in tears because she was so excited to go out for Japanese, I didnt want to lose my temper and make the night out any worse. Happy ending thought, we went up the road to Omuya and couldn’t have been happier with the service an,d food. If you think Senoji, book at Omuya instead.

The restaurant has some truly delicious food, with a wide variety of dishes that are sure to please any Japanese cuisine lover portion size was a bit small I ordered the pork fillet curry but only the pork came . However, I must say that the service was somewhat disappointing. While the waitstaff were polite and attentive.
