Felt like duck, googled best duck in Chinatown and decided on Secret Kitchen. Did not disappoint. Service was lovely and warm and that alone would set this place apart in Chinatown but the interesting menu & warm (and romantic) vibe really elevates. The BBQ plater was delicious and well priced. Will be back for the lobster soon.

Lots of hype about this place so went to check it out with a group of 10. We had to make a booking for available session. There was a long line to get in but once the session opened everyone got in quickly. Place was nice, modern, well decorated and great atmosphere. Well that was downstairs. We were given a table upstairs which was not so nice but ok. Yam cha food was good but nothing to rave about. Service was a bit rushed with so many people to service it was quite hard to get the attention of the waiters to even order drinks. Min spend for the table was $300 even if didn’t order that much. Our bill was just over $300. Any way it’s a good experience.

In the city again (Jul 23) and come for Dim Sums. It was not as good as before. beef steamed rice roll – tasted fishy smell (not sure the meat mixed with fish?), others are average.

Very nice yum cha restaurant, it was buzzing and full of authentic asian yum cha vibe. Good selection of dim sims and special dishes. Looks and taste great. Will be back for sure.

Xiao Long bao was good but the dough was very thick. Suimai was good and there was interesting flavours. Cheong fan and hamsui gok was small but I think the quality was high end, it was stretchy and filling was flavourful.

We had Tim Sum for lunch. Lots of varieties that you can’t find in other restaurants. The food was yummy, and service was top-notch. By lunchtime, it was fully booked. A fee will be charged for all credit cards and Eftpos.

Secret Kitchen is a hive of activity, but the wonderful Christine and her team are at all times attentive, efficient and super friendly despite being so busy, making us feel very welcome. We ordered a broad range of yum cha items (alas, didn’t photograph most of them) and everything was excellent, from the savouries through to desserts. As a group of 8, the bill was actually excellent value for the quality of what we got; we look forward to returning!
