This modern Mexican menu encapsulates everything I love about a venue: delicious, spicy cocktails, next level taco recipes and slow cooked meat to perfection! The absolute highlights were for me the zesty ceviche which tasted like lemon and an afternoon of sun and sand and the slow cooked beef, a medium-rare mouthful of divinity. Visited Sayulita to catchup with friends. Looking for a great Mexican food for dinner and ordered the chefs banquette for $69/head. Don’t feel we got much value for this and the meals are quite light. I’m not a heavy eater and could still watch after all the meals came out.

Want great authentic Mexican food in Lane cove? This Mexican restaurant showcases lovely produce. Head Chef Luis Zaleta is from Mexico and brings some of the flavours from sayulita in the south to Australia. We started with totopos and. Guacamole, beautiful fish ceviche and grilled corn elotes. 3 beautiful tasty starters cooked well. The ceviche in particular was excellent, fresh fish, zingy lime dressing. We then had beautiful haloumi with a salsa macha (chilli and sesame salsa) which was perfect wrapped in a corn tortilla. Carne asada was a beautifully cooked beef, seared perfectly and pink on the inside with grilled leeks. Finally grilled camerones. Prawns with a spicy chilli marinade, potatoes and broccolini. All made for wrapping in tortillas. For dessert a coffee flan, churros and a Mexican brownie. We had a great selection of tequila margaritas made with 1800 tequila and wines from alpha box and dice in McLaren Vale. Service was excellent. Loved it

Service and meal both were great. Perfect place for a casual date night, make sure you ask the staff for the hot sauce as it went well with the tacos! Parking is also very conveniently placed directly downstairs with 3 hours free if you park on the lower levels.

Food here is tasty and fresh but not especially authentic, more modern and Aussie in style than real Mexican food. What let’s this place down is the rushed service and poor value for money. Portions are really quite small for the higher prices charged so be prepared for that. Food came very quickly but though the wait staff were very polite and friendly we continuously had the sense that they were trying to move us on so they could turnover another table. Not a place you will feel encouraged to linger unless, like me, you are old and stubborn
