I was looking forward to Vietnamese away from my usual residence. I Purchased takeaway lemongrass chilli chicken rice and shredded pork rolls. The food was edible at a price comparative to other Vietnamese restaurants I frequent. Unfortunately the shredded pork rolls were small, but more importantly LACKED flavour, they are just vermicilli noodle shredded pork and iceberg lettuce. Where is the mint or corriander or shredded carrot? I could not taste any lemongrass in the lemongrass chicken, nor see any – it shouldn’t be in the title. All i could taste was chilli, so better off calling it chilli chicken and rice. To add im not adverse to chilli, i love to eat chilli dishes hot.

Saigon 101 is a handy little Vietnamese cafe serving great food and comes with friendly service from the owners. Our regular favourite ! Be sure to try the Special beef noodle soup and summer rolls, delicious !

Last time we were in Mermaid Waters, they were closed, but last week when we stayed there again, Saigon 101 was open. The little restaurant’s interior is very basic and it has some seating outside. But the owner makes up for it with her friendliness and of course the food. Everything we had was delicious, the portions a good size and reasonable priced. My friend would have liked it a bit spicier, but I liked it. Next time we are on the Gold Coast, we will definitely go back

Worst Vietnamese food I’ve ever had. I had the Vietnamese chicken salad, which had hard cabbage instead of Chinese cabbage, lacked the fresh herbs, and was terrible. The dressing was awful. Nothing like Vietnamese cuisine.

The best Vietnamese restaurant I have ever had in Australia! Every dishes is special and very tasty! So lucky that I found this restaurant when visiting Gold Coast! A must-go restaurant in Gold Coast, strongly recommended! And the staff is friendly and kind :3)

Great pho – we had the Special Beef rice noodle and the spicy hue rice noodle. The latter is spicy so it’s not for the weak hearted! The Combination Pork Rice was not bad too 🙂 lovely couple who served us too!
