Our experience was not good. We ordered naan, chicken methi and chicken pakora. Chicken was half cooked in the chicken pakora. When asked, they weren’t even ready to give us a fresh batch instead they said they can fry the same chicken once again. Totally disappointed by their service. And yes don’t be fooled by the 4.3 like we did.

This is the third time we have tried this restaurant being local to Healesville. Very disappointed.. the flavours are quite bland, along with the dishes seeming to be watered down – with a watery texture + flavour.. they are missing the richness of authentic curries.

Authentic, home-cooked style with love. We only order main course because kids were very hungry. All curries and naans were really good. Channa masala was best dish out of all. We ordered chicken tikka masala, bagain and daal as well. Thank you so much!!

Very disappointed……..we decided to try this place on our way back from the Redwood forest, and were very disappointed. The food we received was bland and gravy tasted like tomato puree, with no flavour or taste.

The food was not so good. We ordered the daal makhni, chilli panner and we also ordered the chana masala as it said it was one of their best dishes. The chana masala was the worst one, bland and no flavour. The chilli paneer tasted very sweet and was not spicy at all hence its name chilli should be a bit spicy. The chilli paneer tasted like tomato purée. Daal makhni was ok but lacked salt. We needed extra naan but they ran out so other only option was roti, bad considering we were the only ones dining there. Would not recommend this place.

Don’t be fooled by the unassuming façade! We’ve just had a beautiful, authentic Indian take-away dinner from Saffron. We ordered two vegetarian curries as well as samosas and onion bhaji. The servings were so generous and each offering was delicious. The menu also clearly differentiated between vegan and vegetarian meals; a real plus for us. At pick up we discovered that this is a family business run by a lovely husband and wife team. Our only regret was that we didn’t dine-in! We certainly will next time.
