Set on 28 acres of sprawling bushland in the heart of Mount White, Saddles is a gourmet eatery and bakehouse just an hour north of Sydney. Our philosophy celebrates all that is Australiana – the wild yet beautiful landscape, the magical flora and fauna that surrounds the homestead and dam, and the unique wildlife that calls Saddles home. The name, ‘Saddles’ takes inspiration from artisan saddler, Heath Harris, one of Australia’s most renowned horse trainers and masters of saddlery. Harris regularly crafts saddles for John Singleton’s nearby Strawberry Hills Stud and personally designed the famed saddle chairs at our brass-scalloped bar.

Went there on Father’s day but it was fully booked. The lady who made coffee and served take away was very lovely, top notched customer service and great coffee. The pies and sausage rolls were to die for! We sat at bench near the lake, the view was amazing. Will come back to dine in properly.

Such a good experience. It is hearty and beautiful food executed so incredibly well. The pan juices that accompanied the chicken and leek pie were next level. Absolutely delicious and generous food, cooked to exacting perfection. Just WOW. Loved the view, the drinks and the perfect balance of homely and extraordinary. This is a very special offering in a very special setting.

The environment around the restaurant was quite nice. There is a small dam with ducks and black swans. There is also a nursery with different, unique, stylish items for sale.

Dropped in midweek without a booking but they were very pleasant and accommodated us. The atmosphere is very relaxing with lots of trees around and a dam with ducks & swans. We chose the pies as a main. The pastry was very light and flaky and crammed full of meat. The desserts were delicious and the coffees great also. Saddles is only a short drive off the main highway (take the Mt White exit) and easy to get back onto the highway again when finished.

Waited for around 50min for foods – did not expect this long therefore double checked with staff who allocated to us. The lady with ?european accent said “as you can see we are busy, it is public holiday, the order is in the system” something like this. We pay for public holiday surcharge 20% – happy to pay if the service was good however turned into feeling like waste of money. Then, after finishing meals – the lady cleaning our table – we asked can we have dessert serve now? Then the lady said “can I clean the table first?” As if she does not know what the customer service is and how to communicate with customers.

Cute little restaurant. Loved the location need the pond. We arrived at 11.30, just missing out on the breakfast menu. We were allowed to stay until the lunch menu was being served at midday. My friend and I ordered the house baked bread, potato, mushroom and leek tart, fries, mixed leaf salad, and the flourless almond and citrus cake. Bread and fromage Blanc was delicious. I loved loved the tart!! Fries were perfect! Salty and hot and large serving. The cake was nice but I probably would try something else next time. Service was amazing! Highly recommend!!

Excellent service. Had breakfeast, tried their sausage rolls and grilled bacon and it was superb. Flat white was great too, perfect drink on a cold winter morning. We were seated by the fireplace with the pond view, pretty scenic. The dark wood theme exterior and saddles interior is definitely instagrammable.
