Service was excellent and all meals were top end quality produce, presentation and cooked to perfection. I had the scotch fillet and it melted in your mouth. Just a little pink in the middle as ordered (medium rear).

While good motel restaurants seem to be the exception rather than the rule, Tamworth is one place that breaks the mould. Not only is the Powerhouse Tamworth’s restaurant—The Workshop Kitchen—a fabulous place to eat locally produced Jack’s Creek beef, over the road at the Best Western Sanctuary Inn they are doing interesting things as well. The restaurant is called the Riviera Bar & Grill. The decor is a curious blend of conservative wainscoting, and flamboyant lush blue-green velour chairs, circle lights and cane chairs, most boasting window views onto two of Tamworth’s busiest roads.

The flavour and presentation of our meals were good. The candy yum yum drink is a must have and the zucchini flowers are amazing!!. Staff were reasonably friendly and quick to serve. Atmosphere was lovely. However was a bit disappointed our mains came out lukewarm. Didnt want to complqin as it was busy but hope in future if we return we recieve a hot meal. As both our pork ribs and duck ragu were not hot. Otherwise nice restaurant.

I am very tempted to rate Riviera Bar & Grill 5 stars. As I can’t fault either their breakfasts or dinners, especially the speciality pork ribs dish. I think that I need to try one of the pasta dishes to reserve my final judgement, next time I am in Tamworth.
