The original Ramen Danbo shop opened in the year 2000 in the town of Chikushino, located halfway between Hakata and Kurume in Fukuoka, located on the southern island of Kyushu, with a unique focus on quality and taste. After placing number one in a TV poll of top ramen shops, from humble beginnings, the single shop became a chain and expanded quickly throughout Kyushu, followed by the rest of Japan.

That was the worst value for money I have ever purchased. I ordered Two bowls of ramen takeaway and when I added the soup out barely went halfway up the bowl. Each bowl had one piece of meat which was so thin it was see through after adding soup. For 36 bucks, I’ll go somewhere else.

Decent place open throughout the public holiday period. I had a Tonkotsu Gyokai ramen with extra Nitamago (half boiled egg) and my partner had a Classic Ramen with Nitamago. Personally, I thought the bowl was good, the noodles were soggy despite asking for an extra firm texture. Additionally, the price point for all their food is quite high even considering the public holiday surcharge as we ate on New Year’s Day. A big positive is the sizes of beer available to purchase. I got a 770ml Suntory malt on tap and the thing was huuuuge definitely worthwhile for beer lovers.

Very enjoyable authentic ramen for a reasonable price. The standard tonkotsu broth is very flavourful and I like that you can customise your whole ramen. I like firm noodles (kinda like al dente for pasta), less salty soup (allows you to enjoy the umami more and be able to drink the whole bowl), and standard everything else. The restaurant is often packed but the staff are friendly when available. Really glad to have a native Japanese ramen chain available here!

Very nice ambience and friendly staffs. Delicious gyoza, there were really tasty that we had to order the second plate. If only the ramen base was tastier then I would have given all 5 stars. The one that I ordered had a bland broth taste, and way too much sesame seeds. Otherwise nice ramen place.

Ramen broth is very strong. The noodle is really nice. Simple menu (wish there was more choices though). Overall the food was really nice and reasonably priced. I will recommend this place for those who are looking for a quick quality bite.
