Our focus on Peasants food derived from our ethnic back grounds. We both have different back grounds from the Australian culture but we understood that through Food ie Peasant Food there will always be something nostalgic about it. Home cooked by your Mum or Grandma always has a warm fuzzy feeling to it and that’s what we intend to bring into our Food. The notion of Peasant food is the multi-cultural mix of cheaper cuts of meat, produce that is over looked and dishes that have their heritage stamped on them. Expect big, bold spices and flavours that all have a story and point of origin to them. We have a shared styled philosophy. Value for money is a big part of our ethos.

The food had some of the best and most incredibly balanced flavors I’ve ever eaten. All the vegetarian dishes are gorgeous. Definitely try the radicchio dish! (Omnivores were also delighted)

This is a funky restaurant on the far side of Northbridge. There’s a chilled vibe and the owner is very friendly and seems passionate about his food. There are some unique flavours included in the menu, including ones with influences from his heritage. We came for dinner, and it was a little on the late side, so the restaurant was quietening down. It was still a reasonable vibe inside. The standout dishes for me were the fish rillette (this was my number one). It was quite unique, really tasty, and had a great balance of flavours. It complemented the other entree-like fish we got – the oxtail hommus. That was also delicious. We also had the chicken, which was nice, but for me, not as unique (but was my partner’s favourite). The letdown for us, however, was the dessert. It was simple, tasted ok, but was pretty small for the price. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience and I recommend you check it out.

I ordered the chicken parfait Sambo, African doughnuts and oxtail with toast. Exciting food, layer on layer of spice without being spicy. So interesting and different to anything ive ever tasted. Add to that that the owner is just lovely. This is a phenomenal place. Thank you!

It’s been a very long time since I have been as impressed as I am with this restaurant! This place is unassuming at first but let me assure you, if you’re at all interested in what quality food is with fresh ingredients and flavors that will excite your tastebuds, and something for everyone this is where you need to park yourself for a meal. Dwight has looked after us on two occasions already and we’re going back for round 3 tonight and bringing friends, he is very knowledgeable about the food and is also such a lovely, welcoming and happy person that it really rounded out the experience. The food is so good we went 2 days in a row and stuffed ourselves into a food coma with no regrets. They also do monthly seafood boils I can’t wait to see, I can’t recommend them highly enough, what a gem! I’ll be going here as often as possible and you should stop by and try it for yourself.
