The cafe, simply named as On the Lane has its charm with vintage interiors and sells tea sets that are like heirlooms. If the weather is fitting, best to dine al fresco.

I really wanted to love this place because the staff were so friendly, but unfortunately, their food let them down. The smashed avocado with feta came on only one piece of toast, with hardly any feta, for an extortionate total of $21. Meanwhile the big breakfast is only $4 more and had a more decent amount of food. The coffee was mediocre. A lot of the meals looked small, so I’m guessing their target market is the seniors who don’t eat that much as the place was full of seniors. That’s fine, but charge appropriately.

We had breakfast in On the lane. Service was table and came promptly. I had eggs, bacon on toast which was tasty. Definitely recommend this spot.

Asked for a salad for a diabetic and was told “no it’s breakfast time so you have to choose off the breakfast menu”, nothing on the breakfast menu suitable for a diabetic. Asked again for a plain salad and after a bit of to-ing and fro-ing we managed to get one. After it was practically thrown at us by the tall blonde who obviously didn’t wanna be there. Nice salad in the end. Appreciated they had to go out of the way to meet customers needs

Waited WAY too long for our coffees with a very disappointing result. Ordered a double shot cappuccino in a small cup. Instead I got my coffee served up in a massive mug as ‘there were no small cups left’. It was hands-down one of the worst coffees I’ve been served. Very disappointed
