Again, a quick bite to eat before heading home. The choice we made was Calamari and Chips and a bottle of Apple Juice. The Calamari very crunchy and large cut strips. The chips also very nice. The meal and drink and sauce $22.90 – plenty for two people – actually struggling to finish the meal.

Some time back I caught fresh water crays out of Cooper Creek , Innamincka, last Thursday while on the Sunny Coast I visited this seafood joint and purchased a kilo of fresh ocean prawns and two bugs for $60. I would have been wiser to keep the $60 and head on back to Innamicka . The prawns were tasteless / soft and hard to peel , worst ever and the bugs weren’t any better. For anyone wanting fresh seafood try other outlet . My opinion on the good reviews for this shop is that reviewers either own / work or are family members . One star is overrated.

We paid $65 for fish and chips, potato scallops, calamari and prawn cutlets. We got crumbed reef fish and it was so disgusting – it actually smelled rotten! I had taken a bite and nearly vomited it was so terrible.

Fish was perfect, chips OK. Ordered Battered Hoki and Chips and Popcorn Fish and chips for son. Cost $18.90 all up. No pictures as we were too hungry to take any.

So disappointing. Got fish (snapper) & chips and a small calamari. Nice big chunk of fish but so very dry and tough. I didn’t know fish could be tough. I had to really look at it to make sure it wasn’t chicken. The calamari was super tender and plenty of it as always but had a strange smell/taste. Sort of metallic/ sort of bleach. Not pleasant so only had a few pieces. Waste of $8. This place has always been our family’s go to fish &chip, seafood place. Really really disappointed

Ordered fried Snapper and chips – what I got was a half piece of snapper so overcooked that it was akin to eating chicken. Horrible. And the serving of chips was also half size and also overcooked – couldn’t eat it.

Delicious restaurant quality food on the deck. We went for lunch and ate seafood chowder and fish of the day. They were so fabulous that we returned for dinner to equally delicious food. Best we have tried in Mooloolaba, and we’ve tried a lot! Highly recommended.

What used to be a pretty decent fish and chips is now one of the worst on the coast. Soggy unpleasant chips, small pieces of greasy fish and very average service. So sad to see how this place has sunk so low.
