This place is awful. The only redeeming feature was that the wait staff were polite. My first drink was undrinkable . My second drink was made completely incorrectly and was missing the key ingredient ; I assume that was probably on purpose because I offended the bar tender by not drinking the first one. My food (vegie option) was extremely bland. The pork nachos just looked like a sad little puddle. I would have thought that it was near impossible to get tequila and nachos wrong but here we are.

Had lunch today and the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food was great. We’ve had Montezumas many times and today the food was excellent. All tasty, fresh and no delays. The new owner checked in at the end to see if we were happy with our meal, and we were!

The young gentleman serving was super friendly and delivered great service. The presentation of the food was lacking vibrance, some fresh herbs or fresh salsa on top would’ve made all the difference. Food was still yummy.

Needless to say that I’m extremely disappointed. The owners of the original franchise were close friends of the family and I’ve been going to Montezuma’s Coolangatta since it’s opening night. We always make a point of having dinner there when we visit the Coast and I’m sad to say that my experience on Friday night (last night) will be my last.

The worst tasting meal I’ve ever got at a restaurant. We love Montezuma’s. We hated this. Tasteless and dreadful. This food isn’t Montezuma’s. Jalapeños poppers omg are raw and the corn chips on top look like cornflakes cereal. It had NO flavor. Prawn Burrito had NO taste and was like kids size which was a blessing because you couldn’t eat much of it. Corn Chips are thin and dreadful. The montezumas Delight was left because it had no flavor and weird. My husband said surely they can stuff up the nachos. Guess what they did. Please taste your food Coolangatta because it was really really bad. Never again

$110.55 later and we honestly got scammed. Beef Enchilada is not what Burleigh Monte does and you get one per served.Also the prawn nachos, I literally had tears in my eyes.. You can literally see the bottom of the foil dish when opening it.
