The restaurant is hard to find. Google took us down Collins Street and we couldn’t find the entrance there. I recommend navigating to Critical Hit (game shop) as the alley to Makan is right next to the game shop.

We loved our dinner and the dishes were outstanding and it’s very hard to recommend a dish as everything is so delicious and very rich!!! We loved the new menu especially the Octopus and the Lamb!!! Full of flavours and the presentation was incredible!! We can’t wait to dine here again soon!! Big thanks to all the staff, they are always smiling and very friendly!! Keep it up guys and thank you!!!

I came back here after such a long time (probably 4 years? Before covid). And this time I think we ordered right, everything was so yummy. Gado gad o’s appearance was soo pretty, didnt expect it to look like that. Taste wise was yum, not sure what they put for crunchy bits but it gives a really nice texture too. Their coco pandan mocktail was really nice, reminds me of es Bandung/soda gembira but not as fizzy. Melon mocktail was not bad either. Then we had the grilled octopus. They actually chopped them and put them in this peanuty sauce which was not bad. Rendang was sooo nice and tender, the taste is just right. Mie goreng was beautiful and has generous chopped prawns on top. Chicken satay was also very nice, although came in two skewers so a bit hard to share with a few people. In general very impressed with the foods! I think it is better than what I had 4 years ago. I remembered it as a fusion Indonesian but this time I feel it’s more Indonesian taste, just the appearance is like fusion. Very happy with the dinner, but the staff look rather unhappy throughout the night, just no smiles and as a fancier restaurant, they usually ask how is everything or how was the food and here there was none of that.

Amazing food with diverse flavors and textures that reflect the country’s rich cultural heritage. The beef rendang was the star of the show, an explosion of flavour combine with authentic aroma reminds me of the hospitality and warmth of the Indonesian people.

Good food and service. It is a bit hard to locate the place on google Maps, but you can find it just next to ‘oriental tea house’

Great food and service! We had the soft shell crab baos, mie goreng and nasi goreng. The textures and flavours were amazing and all the meals were decently priced too. The restaurant is a bit difficult to locate from collins street. I wish they had included clearer instructions on how to get there on their website.
