The food was great, we’re both Thai and the food was definitely nostalgic. It had the correct flavours.

First time. Had heard only praises about Long Chim. And it didn’t disappoint. Not only is the restaurant unusual (being the old Treasury), the music funky but the food is absolutely delicious . The menu is not huge (fits on one page) with selected options for starters and mains. The flavours of every dish we ordered were to die for, the staff was very friendly. Service was prompt and accommodating. And don’t forget the cocktails . Awesome. Decently priced. We’re definitely coming back.

The sign to get into the restaurant is a bit confusing. The service was good at the start, our waitress was attentive and friendly. Towards the end of the meal, she must have finished her shift and we couldn’t get the attention of any other staff wait staff for about 5 mins to pay our bill. They focused all their attention on the tables closest to the kitchen and forgot about the people at the back of the restaurant. The food was pretty good, a little heavy on the salt. Good size portions, especially the laksa. A tad on the pricey side though. All in all, not too bad but not a restaurant I’ll be going back to in a hurry.

Had a fabulous meal here on Saturday night. We had an early booking at 5.30pm and got a great table in the corner which meant it wasn’t too noisy. As we were early, happy hour was available which was a bonus especially with the delicious cocktails that were on the menu. The food was amazing and everything we ate we loved. If you are looking for somewhere with a great atmosphere and fabulous food this is where you need to go!

Main dishes: ordered the fish curry, pork stir-fry, banana salad and jasmine rice to share. It came in good time all at once. The banana salad was quite hodgepodge with what seemed to be a mix of all kinds of vegetables, prawns and other bits covered in a desert-sweet dressing with clumps of coconut cream. Fortunately the sweetness managed to balance out the fish stew which was extremely salty. The pork stir-fry was possibly the best of the mains with a pleasing mix of textures and a spicy kick. The significant oiliness of the pork dish meant a generous serving of rice was required to balance it out however, so not something to order if you’re like one of us and not a fan of oil laden foods.

We had the Silom two-course lunch. I had the Grilled Squid (this was a substitute for the out-of-stock mussels) and the Pad Prik King Muu roast pork snake bean red curry. The latter was surprisingly spicy. It was also a bit pricey for what it was.

Service was excellent, atmosphere was nice! I really liked how friendly and prompt the service was. We had some drinks at the bar and had a few dishes to share. I enjoyed the dishes but none of them really stood out to me. The other thing was that I felt the tables next to use were too close for comfort. Their roti and banana dessert was very good though! Their cocktails were a hit and miss, I enjoyed the tequila chilli one for example but their toasted rice one wasn’t nice in my opinion. Overall I would give this place a 7.5/10 🙂
