We were very disappointed with our meal. The battered fish was just dripping with oil. I tried squeezing it out with tissues. I couldn’t eat it all as it was making me a little queasy. Chips didn’t taste all that nice either. Calamari were cut so thin and over cooked. Fritters and crumbed whiting just OK. Don’t think we’ll be back

Mediocre chips. Considering I paid $10 for large chips, I expected them to be much better, at the very least all the chips be properly cooked, but no, most of the chips were soft and soggy and the few that looked crispy were hard and chewy. I don’t know if it is old oil, taken out of the deep fryer too early or what, but boy oh boy, those chips were not only overpriced but woeful to eat. Oh well, live and learn.

Ordered battered cod, calamari and prawn cutlets. The BEST fish we have had in a very long time. Batter was light and crispy and fish was tender and delicious. Excellent batter to fish ratio. Prawns and calamari were amazing as well. All very fresh. Will be back next time we’re in Marcoola.
