Highly recommend! Enjoyed a delicious dinner here with friends that I returned a few days later with the family. Great Vietnamese dishes presented beautifully in a warm cosy atmosphere. Standout dishes included the Duck Pancakes, Tiger Prawn Rice Paper Rolls, Betel Leaf San Choy Bao, Signature Crispy Pancake with Tiger Prawns, Baked Barramundi in paper, Special Fried Rice with Prawns and Sticky Rice with Ice Cream.

To start, bland food. For that price point and supposed “reputation” I was expecting a little bit better. Dining based on expectation is always a little tricky. I’ve dined at many Asian restaurants and compared to others in the area quite frankly I left with a bitter taste in my mouth. But that bitterness wasn’t just the ill seasoned food. The most bitter and disgusting of all was the service. An overall tense experience. I tried to keep an open mind. But I was greeted by wait staff who looked like they did not want to be there. And for good reason… Lady Chu. You don’t have to look closely to see the rude way she interacts with her customers. I don’t know if Lady Chu knows that in hospitality the most basic principle is to be hospitable – the atmosphere is the furthest thing from hospitable.

To be avoided unless you like being served by an owner who clearly has mental problems.

The food is awesome, the rice paper rolls are the best I’ve ever had, dine in is great but it’s also literally the only thing available on ubereats that I can order and enjoy. To the people complaining about the owner- you sound entitled – so what if the owner is short with you? Get over it. You’re going there for the food not to have staff fawn over you and the food is great. I personally love her vibe, she’s straightforward and genuine just like her food.

food is simple and fresh but is lacking in flavour. Don’t order the prawn hargow – tasteless. Definitely do not order the whole flounder either, it’s tiny, there was probably about 200g of edible fish and it costs $85. Service is pretty good as opposed to the reviews but the food as mentioned is nothing special.

Do not believe any of the ridiculous negative reviews about this place. Contrary to the prevailing sentiment, my experience at Lady Chu was nothing less than extraordinary. This gem in Sydney’s culinary scene serves some of the finest Vietnamese fusion food, challenging the naysayers.

Been here twice since the below. Was completely ignored by the owner both times while we waited for a table. Not even a “will be with you in a moment. Perhaps I don’t fit the aesthetic that she wants… the food is good but it’s not worth the rude service. Won’t be coming back.
