This used to be the best Japanese restaurant in Hobart. I took my wife and her brother here to share this place and oh was I disappointed. The menu has completely changed and I’m not giving it a bad review just because of that. The food is actually pretty average but incredibly the rice is completely not right in the nigiri and the sushi rolls are all falling apart and in the case of the nigiri oh my god.. you can’t even pick it up and it’s not even close to the usual shape. Salmon sashimi was fresh at least but the ramen was average and so was the agedashi tofu and the tempura.

A great place with friendly staff and awesome food. Note it is traditional Japanese food and therefore style and taste may not match the sushi train experience. Have always loved dining here and the experience has never been negative. It’s a nice traditional style restaurant as well.

Evening meal for 5 with my father who’s in his 80s. The food was generous and delicious, full of flavour. Waiter was discrete but attentive, and the room nicely decorated. A lovely family meal.

It’s worth going just for the atmosphere alone! The food is great, the service is great. I’ve been 3 times now and I’m definitely going back whenever I can! Highly recommend!

The bento box is really good!The sashimi is very fresh and the tempura is pretty yummy!!However the sushi is just so so…And the wasabi is not spicy…And chicken rice just normal..Actually about the food taste just 3 star in my mind.But the service can have 4 star:)Anyway i recommend tempura!

The food is great, the environment and service are impeccable – the restaurant is decorated with traditional and authentic Japanese cuisine and decorations, and the staff is lovely and welcoming. All dishes – especially the bento box – are generously offered, including a variety of Japanese dishes. But today I got a special dish which is suprisingly wonderful!
