I went to this restaurant with my partner, who happens to be French. The cozy atmosphere and charming decor instantly made her feel at home. The food was absolutely delicious, and even myself who’s not a dessert kind of guy, wouldn’t say no to one of those “mousse au chocolate” (or however you write it). What stood out the most was the personal touch of the new management. When we inquired about one of the recipes, the Chef himself came to introduce himself and share some insights. This added a unique and memorable touch to our dining experience. Definitely coming back next time I stop at Bowral. Wishing the best of success to the owner Julien.

Had a wonderful dinner at Julien’s. The food was very tasty and the meals are a good size. The wine list had local wines which was a plus.

Please take this as constructive criticism. We found the food was OK. Two of us had the Beef Wellington and the pastry was not the right type for this item and it was burnt. The staff were friendly and initially good. Although the food was delivered promptly we had to remind them about the greens we’d ordered and also the wine. Something included with the greens was very chewy and unable to be swallowed. Also the menu was a bit too small and there was no Savignon Blanc available.

We, the party of six, have frequented this highly regarded fine dining restaurant for years when it was then owned by resturanteurJohn. He kept the high standard that tempted our returns year after year.

Where to start? Our experience was incredible. Staff were attentive and friendly and the atmosphere was warm and cosy. The food was exceptional from start to finish, 3 courses each plus a little something from the pastry cart. Hands down one of the best dining experiences we’ve had.
