I visited based on a friend’s recommendation, I’m in Hobart for a one day business trip. I’m so glad that I managed to squeeze this place in, what an awesome place. I had a simple breakfast, a savoury croissant and coffee. But the quality, flavour and texture of the food is simply perfect. I wish I had the time or the capacity for dessert, I’ve bought cookies for my trip back to Sydney and would be sharing them with family and friends.

I have been here quite a few times over the last year. The food is wonderful, and presentation is always impressive. Its a lovely spot to sit outside in the shade or sun and watch the world go by. Staff are always friendly and service is prompt, even when they are busy. It is nice to see the broad age range in both customers and staff. Overall, a very comfortable and welcoming atmosphere.

I’ve been to la boutique before and I always wanted to one day stop in the restaurant to eat as I loved the food so much, wrong decision, waitress was next level rude, she looked like she didn’t want to be there, she rolled her eyes on us, we needed to go to the till to ask for the menu and she looked at as as we made a mistake by asking. Our order was wrong, they took forever to bring a piece of cake. This is to never come back, the worst customer serve I had in a very long time

Ruined. Great looking cafe food, unfortunately pies served barely warm today, then taken away and returned having been zapped in the microwave. What a way to treat what is obviously wonderful pastry. Pretty unacceptable.

Our first time to order their three course meal and were not disappointed! Wish I ordered much earlier. I couldn’t resist the roast pork which we haven’t tasted actually. But the star for me was the donut! I wasn’t keen on it. Based in past experiences, donuts that didn’t come from Krispy Kreme or Dunkin’ donuts are not great for me. Often, they are hard or just dry and unappetising. To my surprise, the donuts we’re fluffy, not so sweet and very substantial. It was a pleasant surprise indeed! Thanks to my honey who had a sweet tooth, as soon as we got home after picking up our orders, he said he wanted to have the donut first and I wanted the quiche. We did have a lot of food at home so I was feeling guilty on our little “splurge” that was really worth it ( note I haven’t tasted the roast pork). For sure we shall be back, will take our fussy eater too. He still refuses to eat the ones we saved for him so we will see. Thanks Jean Pascal, you have a new fan! Just hard phoning but be patient, just leave a message and their system works. Hub insisted to ring again to make sure our orders were through. But of course, it just kept ringing so I gave up and I told him, for sure, it’s fine and I was right! End of story!
