This place is a fave of mine. I often grab a few plates off the train for a takeaway lunch. You can sit outside at their outside tables or in the gardens. Inside I find very noisey as there are concrete floors.

Really great portions but the tables were a little small if you wanted to order a few dishes. If you get the bento, it just fits on the single table’s width. They also have some interesting posters on their walls. Another thing to note, I found it was hard to hear your own conversation when it gets busy inside. We ordered the pork belly, mushroom bamboo salad, a bento box, chicken avo sushi roll, and the scallop & salmon skewers

The food was good. Portion sizes are great! There were 6 thick slices of pork in my ramen. And if you didn’t end up finishing your food, you could always get the rest takeaway like I did.

Always have the lunch menu set for $15. Very good deal and the food quality is sooo good. Salmon portion is more than enough. Staff is friendly and helpful. Always happy to come back here.

Ate here during lunch and we ordered the pork katsu which was on lunch special and the kimchee soup. The katsu was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. But kind of disappointed with the kimchee soup. It was too salty and it was pricier in comparison to other meals.It felt like it was a waste to eat only a part of it.The restaurant has good lunch specials so it’s worth a try.

My first visit here at Izakaya Goku and I’m already impressed with the level of service. Special lunch deals and an assortment of sushi and Japanese dishes are what this Japanese restaurant has to offer. Prices are reasonable and seating is comfortable. Drinks list here is amazing as well with a wide variety of selection. There are some things however that needs to be improved. The tempura batter is hard, greasy and inconsistent, broccoli is not recommended for tempura as it can burn or char easily.
