Going from other people’s reviews, it would appear that the recent race to the bottom at this establishment continues at full speed. Where to start? Perhaps with the signage (including the drive through menu) outside the restaurant, which was turned off, despite it being nighttime, presumably to make any potential customers think that the store was closed. Once inside the store, and as shown in the attached photos, we were struck by i.) multiple overflowing bins, and ii.) an unattractively cluttered service counter with numerous items scattered across it (bizarrely including two melting upturned soft-serve cones in cups, which had probably been left by a customer who had given up waiting on their order, or had died before it was complete). We also noticed a high number of surly looking customers who were waiting to collect their orders (their expressions didn’t take long for us to fully understand and empathise with). Having placed our order on the app, we then waited – literally – for over an hour for our food to be ready. During this interminable wait, we honestly observed another waiting customer leave the store, go to an adjacent KFC, place and collect his order there, return inside HJ’s and eat his KFC in its entirety while continuing to wait on his HJ’s order! After our more than hour-long wait was finally over, we received an order that was largely cold (presumably most of the items had been prepared much earlier, but nobody had bothered to keep them warm), and which included inexplicably squashed burgers, a missing item (fries), and missing ingredients (one burger was missing a cheese slice, another the mayo, when that was the only condiment that was supposed to be on the burger). We were also unapologetically informed by staff that they would not be making coffee or thickshakes (we strongly suspect that there was nothing wrong with either machine), and we were offered cheaper soft drinks as an alternative, with no refund on the balance paid in the original order being processed. Throughout, staff were thin on the ground, and no manager was anywhere to be seen. At the risk of coming across as ageist, the few staff that we saw and dealt with were teenagers, who exuded a toxic “whatever” air of indifference and incompetence, not even offering an apology for a wait of over an hour for supposedly “fast” food. Needless to say, a horrible experience all round, which will ensure that we do not return unless this restaurant can miraculously turn around its decline. If things don’t improve markedly, then if there is any justice this restaurant will soon be consigned to the fast food graveyard, which on the basis of this experience is precisely where it belongs. On a closing note though, and echoing some of the other reviews found here, it appears that this restaurant is currently in steep and rapid decline, as we have dined here many times over a number of years, and previously have had largely positive experiences, especially when a recognisable manager has been present. If Gordon Ramsay happens to be reading this and is in search of a new challenge, trust me, the search ends here!

Absolutely disgraceful service on the 17/08/2023 at approximately 7:30pm it took over half an hour to get my order plus many other people waiting too. The young staff have no guidance from an adult supervisor they were awfully confused when reading orders from screens and where slow as a wet hen. I suggest management get their act together and train staff properly to work quick an efficiently the store was also filthy chairs,tables,windows,door handles etc need a good clean I have a good mind to ring the health department and make a report on this store.

I recently visited the Hungry Jack’s at Kangaroo Flat, and I must say, I was quite disappointed with the customer service. While the food, as expected was decent, the service left a lot to be desired. The staff member who took my order seemed disinterested and unwilling to listen to what I was ordering. Their attitude was rather rude, which detracted from the overall experience.

Went through the drive through on Sunday 18/6 at 10.40 am the girl taking the order rude, had no general manners, definitely didn’t want to be at work . They were not busy and we still had to park around the corner and wait for our order of two toasties and hot chocolate and coffee
