Wow. What a gem. The batter is so thin, golden and crunchy I was amazed at how good it was. The fish was beautiful and flaky, prawn was massive and juicy, chips were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and the bug is so soft and delicate. The seafood box for one is a good way to taste a bit of everything. We also tried the calamari and potato scallop and was a bit disappointed as the calamari was a bit chewy and the potato scallop was too thick so it was a bit raw in some parts. Nevertheless would still come back for the fish and chips which is amazing.

If your after some seriously good fish or fish and chip….you can’t go without trying this place….you won’t be sorry….I do have 1 gripe…..if the board says it’s 15$ then bloody charge what it says….or fix your prices on the board

Best fish & chips I’ve had in a very long time. Fish was lovely & fresh with a nice crispy batter. Both the fish & chips were cooked well in clean oil. Reasonably priced, can’t wait until I next visit Gladstone again, will definitely return. Highly recommend stopping here.

Going to the Hot box van is always on my list of things I must do whenever I visit Gladstone. They have a variety of menu options. The food is by far the best you can get in Gladstone and the staff are polite always go out of their way to provide a great experience for their guests. Keep up the good work

We were in Gladstone for the weekend for our sons AFL, and we were looking for a fish and chip joint. I found them on google so we went for a drive. When we got there it was a little deceiving. But the food was amazing. Staff are polite and prices were reasonable. Will return again

Quality has recently taken a massive dive. Having told my daughter and grandkids up visiting from Melbourne it’s the best in town, her grilled Red Emperor was over cooked and like rubber. Steamed dim sim was half frozen. Eight of the nine potatoe cakes were hard from only being half cooked.

We always buy take-away fish, scallops n chips everytime we come to Gladstone. The scallops used to be the best, so sweet and perfectly cooked. Not the last 3 visits. Unfortunately. There were no Tassie scallops or WA scallops so were given Ametican ‘no roe’ scallops. The batter was so thin and patchy that any scallop juice could not be retained. No flavour unfortunately. There is always next time though. The mud crabs were and always are fabulous!
