I had the pleasure of trying the chicken rice at Hippo Noodle House, and it was a five-star experience. The tender and flavorful chicken paired perfectly with the fragrant rice. The dish was beautifully presented, and the portion size was generous. The combination of flavors was simply outstanding. I highly recommend trying the chicken rice at Hippo Noodle House for a satisfying and delicious meal.

Great food and a welcome addition to the area. Didn’t get the chance to dine at the backyard location but this is so much more accessible without having to make reservations. I’ll be a regular for sure!

This restaurant has been hyped up since it was operated from their backyard. Tonight I left wondering what all the hype was about?!

Visit this charming hidden restaurant in Lidcombe for yourself. The service is unmatched. The owner/staffs/everyone genuinely cares about your experience. Everything we tried was as authentic as it gets when it comes to Vietnamese food. Easily the finest supper we’ve ever had so far. I highly suggest it!

A hidden Vietnamese restaurant in a suburban street in Lidcombe. It has limited opening hours and it’s located in a backyard. Plenty of street parking available. I highly recommend the sugar can prawns, soft and full of flavour. The sugar cane also isn’t dry like some other places. You should also make a booking if you can, although the turn around is generally quick. Staff are friendly and the environment is very clean. The pho bo has a different broth compared to the standard Saigon style ones around and the tapioca seafood noodles is quite intense flavoured and heavy. Will come back again in the future. Recommend a visit!

Delicious prawn dish – one of the best I’ve had in Sydney. Also have the drip iced coffee. Wasn’t a big fan of the tapioca noodle , preferred the dac biet pho over it but I guess it comes down to preference. Love the set up and friendliness of the owners!

A lovely little restaurant tucked away in the backyard of a home in Lidcombe. Very popular (place was packed when we came for lunch), so would highly recommend calling/texting ahead of time to reserve a spot.

What a hidden gem in Lidcombe. Highly recommend coming into this place to dine in as the ingredients they used in their dishes are fresh and delicious. They are very generous with the amount of meat and other ingredients given with your noodle bowls – you pay for what you get. We are in love with their drip coffee with milk – wow! The experience really takes you back to Vietnam especially the restaurant is in someone’s backyard. Nothing beat a nice home-cooked meal, sitting in a nice open area enjoying the weather with a great Vietnamese coffee right? The owner was very nice and let us tried their ginseng tea (delicious) it helped with digesting our food afterwards. Highly recommend guys!

We went here on 2 occasions. The atmosphere is very cosy and chilled. Once you enter you feel like you’ve discovered a small hidden paradise. The place may be tricky to find, make sure to enter through the white side fence.
