If in Launceston I recommend checking out the cool and cosy Havilah wine bar. Visiting for dinner, I had the wallaby tartar, Boomer Bay oysters and salt cod croquettes to eat along with a Pet Nat.

Amazing place as a cosy wine bar and would definitely revisit. Our waitress was so good and made me look forward to the meals with her descriptions. The wine was good and I really enjoyed the Sinaplus clem Blanc with the oysters and cod. The ricotta pasta was great too and we were offered some focaccia to dip with the sauce which was so good. Highly recommend and would come again when in Launceston again.

Regular clients, usually with several others. Food is great, wine sells itself. Atmosphere WAS great, but the profoundly rude front of house females are destroying it. On one occasion a party of 8 of us found the music was too loud to hear a conversation. When we asked (nicely) if the music could be turned down a little, one of the FoH went back and turned it up. We couldn’t believe it. I went to the bar and asked again and this person just shrugged at me. We left soon after this. Other friends have recently been experiencing the same rude behaviour from the same staff. Save your business- change your FoH staff culture.

Service and food were great, especially the beef short rib. Would have loved to see some more adventurous natural wine on the list but had a great recommendation from the staff. Would happily recommend to anyone heading to Launceston.

Exactly what you want in a wine bar! Amazing welcoming staff who know their menu well. Where great at recommending a wine based on preferences, great for a chat and created a good atmosphere. Wine range was excellent and all wines where delicious! To stroll in after dinner for a wine this was a lovely end to our night.
