At Alida Restaurant, we’ve embraced our seafood and beef heritage and have worked to bring you the best of Tasmania. Chef Aidan has a long history with seafood and those that know our founder Josef and his wife Alida Chromy also know of their family history with continental smallgoods, meat and fine wine going back to the 1930s. Completely redesigned décor and a new state-of-the-art drinks bar and seafood/charcuterie bar await as you take a seat amid our modern restaurant and admire the water views of our lagoon at Penny Royal.

Alida is our favourite place to enjoy lunch and dinner in Launceston. The service is always superb and food is excellent. We enjoyed the wine paring at dinner which was an opportunity to try older and interesting wines. We always feel welcome and look forward to visiting again next time we are in Tassie.

One year ago I had reviewed them as one of the best places in Launceston and I’ve been back multiple times since but tonight just had probably the worst meals ever. The lamb meant to medium rare, was beyond chewy and cold, like biting on rubber.

The service was great and the waterfall outside was definitely the selling point but the food and the drinks were average for its price. If you are used to the fine dinings in Sydney or Melbourne, this is not going to satisfy you.

Had a lovely seafood chowder, good size for a starter item. The side dish of veges and the kids meals were of generous portion size. Price for mains not cheap though. Came here on a week day – pretty quiet, the whole adventure park was pretty dead.
