About 8pm on a cold Saturday night in June, there were no carparks available, so we drove around the block and about 5 spaces had become free. There is some sort of 4 step ordering process, so we walked in to order (they also have drive-through). There were about 20 kids behind the counter.

It’s a good Mexican restaurant. We ordered two bowls, one bowl with grilled chicken, rice, nachos and tomatilo. The other bowl with ground beef, rice, red beans, cheese and tomatilo. It’s filling. The burritos and the bowl costs just 12.50 dollars each. The ambience is also good. Most people preferred drive through as you can see the crowd in the picture I shared. There were seats available in the restaurants. We went around 9 pm for dinner in a weekday and it was so busy. Even though it’s busy, we don’t have to wait much time for the food. We ordered food via GYG app. It’s always better with the app as we don’t have to wait in the queue to order. Also we got a free burrito worth 12.50 dollars when we signed up for the first time via app and this offer is valid till 2023 May or 2023 November, can’t remember the month exactly as I saw it at a glance just before I placed my order.

Two of us came to Guzman Y Gomez on Warrigal Road in Malvern East. I was overwhelmed with the number of staff behind the counter, but that was testament to the popularity of GYG on a Friday night. Having the options to do drive-thru, get takeout, delivery, or dine-in is great as it provides access to everyone in their desired way. The food was delicious as always; we ordered a chicken enchilada, chicken burrito, and fries. Thanks again GYG!
