overpriced and plain food. ordered poached eggs with bacons for $19, came with no sauce! just plain eggs on toast and plain pale bacon. Asked for some sauce but the waitress came with a card device because some aioli cost $2.20! Might as well just rob us straight. The wait staff were polite though.

Terrible first time experience! Seemingly a nice place to have breakfast, we ordered poached eggs and bacon on sourdough and a large cappuccino in a mug which the staff pointed out to us for size. Our eggs on toast came out reasonably promptly, the bacon was grey and opaque, almost broiled, not pink. Half way through our meal, cappuccino turned up in takeaway paper cups??! Asked waitress why, we were told they had run out of proper cups; however, a stack of normal cups could be clearly seen on the coffee machine. At this point the person in charge aggressively interrupted the conversation by suggesting we’d been rude to her waitress and that we should take our issue with her. We again outlined our complaint, but unlike her, calmly. At this point we said to her that she’d lost us as customers and walked back to our breakfast. The person in charge then walked to our table suggesting a refund for the coffee, we told her not to worry about that as the discussion was over. She then suggested we should leave; we replied that as we paid for our food we intended to finish. When she came back to take our plates away, unsolicited she raised the matter again and again we told her that as far we were concerned the conversation/matter was over. Still finishing our coffees the owner comes over and aggressively demands we leave the premises, pointing out that we hadn’t finished our coffees was futile so we left. We are Inverloch visitors staying for several days and scouted out the various eateries; clearly despite appearances Green Heart Cafe has to be last cafe on earth one would want to visit. And the problem stems from the owner down, he clearly does not belong in hospitality; in fact, by his actions, he’s the kind of person that gives the hospitality industry a bad name.

I’m not sure why there are so many one star reviews here. The food is organic and really tasty. Yes, the prices are a bit higher than some of the cafes that serve cheap bacon and battery-farmed eggs, but you get what you pay for and the prices are on the menu. Staff were very friendly even during a busy period. Would certainly come here again.
