Nice small place. Hard to find. It’s actually upstairs but there’s a doorway downstairs that is actually for a cafe but because of the sign above the door it is misleading. Nice food. We had the mid range feed me option. I can’t have shell fish so the menu for me was limited (as expected). Option of seating in traditional Japanese setting (with no shoes) or normal tables. I feel like due to it’s location is missed by a lot of potential. We were the only one’s in the whole place which is sad for such a nice restaurant. Recommend to the Saki tasting plate too to see the different versions… Such a range

Excellent place for dinner. Modern kaiseki ryoori is renowned. Amazing desserts. I recommend the matcha tiramisu. Attentive service. Good wine list. Views for people-watching. Quiet atmosphere. Tatami rooms available.

Totally disappointed with food and service of this place. They asked me how I like my beef, i asked for for medium rare. The beef came out well done and tough. My wife got a rotten piece of pork and we had to send it back. Rice was cooked the day before and reheated. The place is understaffed and sometimes the chef who wears short will bring food out like a cheap chinese takeaway. I won’t be going back. Avoid at all cost

Had high hopes for this restaurant given the location and price. Unfortunately did not live up to the hype. The sushi platter was quite underwhelming, the sushi rice lacked vinegar and the uni overpowered the fish. The tempura was not as light as tempura should be. The mussels were quite nice however. The oysters were nice but nothing exceptional. The signature carpaccio wasn’t special. The Wagyu flavour was overpowered by the sauces. The texture was quite nice though. The Wagyu steak (ordered medium-rare) was not as tender as it usually should be. Honestly questioned if it actually was Wagyu or not…The sauce and puree, however, was quite delicious. Overall an underwhelming experience for the price you pay.

Exceptional in every respect. Welcoming helpful staff, a great menu with many options and wonderful atmosphere. Tried other recommended restaurants locally with no luck on a quiet night but was welcomed here. Next trip to Adelaide I will visit again!

A somewhat disappointing experience. The quality of the food was reasonable especially the sushi and sashimi, and wait staff were polite. However, service from the kitchen was extremely slow, and one of the mains from our order was lost. Kitchen closed quite early with last orders at 8:30 pm. Kingfish main and the salmon main were slightly overcooked and a bit bland. Overall, ok but nothing special.

Came here in 2016 and was very impressed. Came here again in 2021 and felt that overall the food is QUITE expensive considering how I was not absolutely full. Ordered the mixed seafood and veg tempura which was nice and came with lovely salts/mayo/sauces but the serving size is small as we needed 2 serves for 4 people. In terms of the mains, the king salmon dish was unique, interesting and worth trying. The mango pudding dessert was a little odd in terms of flavour balance. Overall everything is cooked well, presented beautifully and you know you’re eating good-quality food but you may not necessarily be blown away and need to be ready to spend a lot.
