Very disappointing, started with oysters and cocktails which were delicious, coctails were really good, we shared 4 out of the 5 small eats, they were very nice especially the lentil one but 2 were not different enough with a similar underlying flavour, for mains we shared the eggplant and prawn curries, these were presented well but did not taste good, very stodgy, over salty and the prawns were overcooked, we both dislike overcooked prawns so I addressed this and the food was taken by the server to show the chef and she advised I would not have to pay for it, I was offered another plate but declined, our curries were nothing like the pictures which unfortunately, gave us unrealistic expectations, we didn’t enjoy them so finished up and went to pay with our gift cards and were refused to use them, we were gobsmacked as they are money the same as any other card. For high end prices, there needs to be better quality control of the food being served.

As MarChef Aus fans, we were so exited to try Gaja by Sashi. It was supposed to be one of our Adelaide trip highlights. Although it was good, we were disappointed with a few points elaborated below and as such we cannot call the experience wonderful. 3.5/5 would be accurate for our ratings.

Throughly enjoyed our meal at Gaja. Flavours were well balanced and full of flavour. Highlights was the eggplant curry, roti (awesome!!), lychee chicken curry and fried chicken (super juicy and delish) and the ribs. Coming back again real soon 😉

We are from Singapore and have been following many seasons of Masterchef AU. Sashi’s restaurant did not disappoint. Flavourful fresh food. The lamb was the best dish, in my view.

We loved every meal. Everything was a hit back to back. We will certainly come back again and hopefully get an autograph from Sashi

No wonder that (at the time of writing) this place had a rating of 4.5 by almost 600 people.

It was our first time at the restaurant, and admittedly, expected the food to be at least good. Our expectations were definitely met, in fact exceeded – Very good food, drinks and service.

This restaurant blew our minds away. Sashi Cheliah, the winner of MasterChef Australia season 10 who owns and runs this place greatly places his culinary prowess in his cooking. All the food here was very lovely, you have an option to order ala carte or order by the set. The must-try dish must be his famous Katrikkai (eggplant) Fried curry. It is out of this World. The chicken chettinad was lovely as well. The kingfish was full of flavour, it did not disappoint. Service was good , friendly staff and outstanding ambiance. Highly recommend to try this restaurant if you’re in Adelaide.

The place. The staff. The food. Incredible. Worth every cent. The staff are attentive without being intrusive. The young lady who served us was brilliant, she knew the menu really well, guided us as well as being lovely to chat too. Just wished I knew her name because she deserves a huge shout out. We ordered the roasted cauliflower curry because I am a vegetarian but I am not keen on ricotta, but the young lady serving us was wonderful saying she would ask for it to be left off. I wasn’t overly worried about it, I said I would work around it but she was fantastic and managed to have it left off for us. The meal was excellent from start to finish. Highly recommend.
