There is nothing better when your expectations are exceeded. What a wonderful food ! Best plant based Italian food I have ever had! and I have been vegan for 8 years. The staff patiently let me practice my italian and I had the best time. Absolutely recommended ! Thank you for such a great dinner !

Really well executed vegan Italian restaurant. The menu is not very large but quite well thought out. Staff are all knowledgeable and friendly. The whiskey sour was delicious. We liked the sauce of the carbonara so much they offered us lovely bread so we could enjoy every last drop!

it was a mild and balmy night for a party of 7. we had booked for outisde lane way area and were seated within 5-10min of being there. our waiter was courteous and service was brilliant. atmosphere was buzzing as it was Friday night and our plant based meals were awesome. we ordered an array of meals and i was amazed at the “mock” food. definitely go here if you would like to try something different or just vegetarian.

A friend recommended this place to me since she found the restaurant on TikTok and your girl here loves Italian. I have only been twice and every time is delightful. They have great servers (there is one that tends to be upstairs that is in particular, very very good! Service is great, attentive and he is super efficient.

Funghi e Tartufo on Hardware Lane is a plant-based restaurant with a 100% vegan menu and wine list. The name “Funghi e Tartufo,” meaning “Mushrooms & Truffle” in Italian, pays homage to their signature dish, inspired by the rich culinary traditions of Sicily.

If you’re after Italian comfort food, look no further. This is a great option regardless of dietary preference and with a 100% plant based menu, it’s a vegan heaven. The menu items hold their own against their non vegan counterparts. The calamari has a great lemon crumb and the meatballs are really rich and “meaty” with a delicious sugo. For mains, I enjoyed the eggplant tagliatelle and chicken with mash, which both have great flavour and pair really nicely together. Bonus points that my omni partner said it was the best vegan chicken he’s ever had. I was too full for dessert by the end but tried the pistachio liqueur and housemade limoncello, which are a nice alternative.

My husband and I went to this place for his birthday, and it was a revelation. We were raised as vegetarians, so it was a bit of a leap of faith to try food that is not named traditionally vegetarian? But I’m glad we tried it anyway.

We were only in Melbourne one night and I’m SO glad we chose to spend it here! The service was fantastic, the coffee fantastic, the food was delicious, warm, hearty and vegan! The Polpette Al Sugo and the Pappardelle Funghi e Tartufo to die for.
