Ernies Kitchen is a stones’ throw away from the sandy beaches located on Coffs Harbour’s Ocean Parade, situated at the front entrance of the premier Equinox residential and holiday apartments. Here, Ernie has created a cosmopolitan brasserie by delivering an open plan kitchen and coffee bar, which has created a unique interactive customer dining experience to complement his breakfast and lunch menus. Ernie’s food concept and aim is to provide the anticipated staples with a contemporary Australian twist, paired with bespoke coffee by “The Laughing Pug” and Australian blended teas by “Tealeaves”. The menu takes inspiration from Australia, sourcing fresh produce locally and from our wider community. Ernies Kitchen is also fully licensed.

Sweetest staff ever! I loved having breakfast here. We had a pot of chai, a lychee and watermelon drink, butterscotch pancakes and a BLT. It was soooo delicious. Definitely recommend the pancakes if you love sweets! The staff was so patient and engaging, we really had a great experience.

We have been here several times before, and every time the service and food is perfect. The last two times we had a lovely waitress called Kayla who I think does Ernies very proud. Passing through Coffs, came across this cute looking cafe. We were very much looking forward to a lovely breakfast and coffee. We sat in the corner viewing the kitchen whilst waiting for our coffee, at this point 8am not too busy. The chef was crashing about the kitchen looking frantic even though we were one of two tables. Coffee was good, the girl serving us was lovely so we thought we’d order the overpriced egg and bacon roll. Much to our astonishment we were told that she would have to ask the chef if we could order as he was about to have a break??? As we patiently waited for our response, people pouring in the door we were delighted to watch the chef sit down at the table next to us tucking in to a full breakfast. Perhaps he should have written the review because we couldn’t tell you what the food was like. Both of us have previously worked as chefs, who sits down in peak hour with customers pouring in??? So we paid for our coffee and gave our business to the wonderful bakery next door. Best sour dough and pastries we have eaten in a long time. Amazing!
