EVL is a unique culinary gem nestled in Carlton. It’s not just a restaurant, it is an experience. The way Chef Helly uses Australian native produce with authentic Indian regional dishes is unique and delicious. The cocktails and wine pairings were equally impressive. Their menu changes every 3-4 months, currently, they are serving Mughaliya cuisine. I am looking forward and curious to see what regional cuisine she is gonna serve next.

A fine dining experience not to be missed! A culinary journey over 3 hours that was an absolute treat..In focus was Kashmiri (Indian) cuisine which was truly delectable. Every dish was unique (use of local Australian produce) and had a character of its own. Very warm staff, who would socialise patrons on every aspect of the meal. A superlative culinary experience that was one of the highlights of my trip to Melbourne.

Helly and her team have taken Indian cuisine to another level, by creating their own signature style of revealing the sights, sounds and more importantly the taste of regional India. This summer/autumn menu which showcases Goan cuisine has been carefully researched and adapted to suit the best local ingredients. The service was attentive and the wine list was extensive. I could imagine myself sitting at a Goa beach, with the sounds of the sea, listening to traditional Goan folk music. A glass of Feni( Goan alcoholic drink made from the cashew fruit) would have completed the journey. Well done to the chefs for an outstanding array of culinary delights.

A wonderful experience with a beautiful venue, intimate atmosphere, inviting staff, delicious dishes that were all individually packed with flavour and an amazing host and head chef! We were completely full by the end of the course so save your appetites! The drinks were a great match with the menu. Dining with other customers made the experience even better. Would highly recommend for a fine dining, intimate experience especially if you are fond of the Indian cuisine. Finding the place was more of a mission for some but entering the right way makes the experience better. Thanks again to the whole team at EVL. We loved it!
