What a hidden gem. I googled earlier today best fish and chips in wodonga and I was was certainly not let down at all. Beautiful clean shop. We had the $12 seafood pack, such great value for money. Thanks team we will definitely be coming back. Well worth the drive from the Mitta Valley.

Effie’s Takeaway in Wodonga is simply fantastic! I recently visited this gem of a restaurant and was blown away by the quality of their food. Their burgers are some of the best I’ve ever had, and their chips are abundant and delicious.

This takeaway shop is known to be the best on the border. However in recent months this store has gone down hill as far as our experience is concerned, which is extremely disappointing as this place was our favourite but its as if they have new owners or a new cook because Every single time we’ve ordered the food was subpar at best and that’s not a very good experience from the so called “best takeaway shop on the border” they clearly have no idea how to manage their time correctly because despite what time they close you can forget about ordering after 7pm or even 6pm some does because they either stop answering the phone all together or flat out tell you that their no longer accepting orders which is pretty annoying to be honest as what is the point of saying you’re open if you’re no longer accepting orders.

A nice takeaway place with some great and resonably priced food! Service was warm and welcoming. If you’re making your way from Canberra to Melbourne or the other way, this is a great place to refuel before continuing the loooong journey.
