The food and the atmosphere were great. The prices are higher than other places but the food quality is completely worth it. We had a good service from two female staff until 5 minutes after finishing the main meals one male staff that did not serve us at all from the beginning came straight up and asked if its ok to give us the bill. Other restaurants would come and ask if we want dessert or more wine, but this one acted like they wanted us to leave asap so we decided to take the bill and pay and have deserts or drinks elsewhere instead of here (hopefully this is not due to that we do not fit in their “typical customers” category). We wanted to come back here for beef wellington, but after that, will think again.

Honestly, I don’t think it’s worth the money. Don’t get me wrong, the steaks were delicious, but for that amount of money you can definitely get better value in Sydney. We spent about $140/pp and are still hungry. Steaks set you back about ~$100/pp on average. The side of the truffled mash ($19) was so small we actually thought it was a sauce. It was genuinely small enough that it became a joke at the table. It was about 2 spoon fulls. The sauces are also $4 each and serve about half a steak.

Went there on a quiet lunch. We had the blue fin tuna with yuzu and pea sauces. It was very delicious. The crispy duck legs were also fall of the bone and the sauce reminded me of Indonesian’s ketchup chilli sambal. I had a grilled wagyu for main. It was delicious. I only didn’t like the chewy fat at the end of the meat. My friend’s fish was lovely. We had mash potato for a side, yum. The dessert was choc lava cake. A bit dry for my liking but all together with amaro nonino, was perfect. The dessert drink amaro nonino was very nice. It’s alcoholic drink btw. Price is reasonable for up market dining. Ambiance was good and so the service. Would be back sometimes.

I have seen this place all over my Instagram and Facebook and decided to give it a try. After finding they offering half price m the food. If you book through First Table, I decide to give it a try. Food was okay and drinks were alright. We got prawns, tarter which was amazing. And bone Morrow, which also was interesting

We had our wedding reception at Eastside over the weekend and I cannot thank them enough for making it one of the best nights of my life. Davide was extremely helpful, making the whole night a breeze to manage. The bar staff was very friendly and loved by our guests. I have received non-stop accolades from the guests at the quality of the food. We have been told that this might have been the best food they have received at a wedding reception, so a huge thank you to the kitchen staff for that.

While the steaks were delicious, especially the Japanese A5, it’s not worth the money even at half price. If you must try yourself, skip on all the starters, mains and desserts and just order steak as everything else on the menu was just ehh.

Pleasant experience with family. Fire and ice never disappoints, ordered the tomahawk (medium) tasted incredible. Not my first time here.. and not my last. It saddens me to read some people’s negative reviews as I’ve only ever had a wonderful experience.. good food and friendly staff.

Eastside is located along Kensington street, a narrow road of bars and restaurants next to the renowned Central Park in chippendale. Upon arrival you’ll notice some barrels and a menu of the four restaurants within the same building. Eastside is on the right hand side on level 1, you can either walk up the stairs or catch the lift. The interior has an old industrial feel kinda of like ‘the barber shop’ with an open kitchen, glass shelf bar and glass fridge meat store. The menu is simple with a few entrees, sides, main dishes and from the wood fire grill selection. We dined here using first table with 50% off the total bill (excluding daily specials and drinks). Eastside is not going to be your everyday lunch/ dinner restaurant, it’s almost like fine dining but with poorer service. It’s just a very expensive, stylish steakhouse & bar. We started with a crystal guava cocktail, it’s only a small wine glass but it’s nice and gets to your head without food. The food isn’t cheap, the most expensive item on the menu would be the wagyu sirloin mbs 12+ @ $90/100g. Larger groups I would recommend ordering Angus or wagyu because you’ll get to try more (minimum order is 800g), though It’s a shame you cannot choose how many grams you want to eat. Entrees are delicious and artistically presented, in particular the scallop sashimi the sauce is fabulous and the scallop is thinly sliced and melts in your mouth. Main we decided to order wagyu rump cut mbs 6+ @ $64/250g which ended up being 7 pieces of of tiny steak on the plate plus shaved truffle. I was a bit disappointed with the taste, perhaps choosing sauce might have been better. The presentation was a bit off just because the juice from the steak started to ooze out and they didn’t bother wiping the plate. Blue eye cod was an average main dish with interesting miso flavours from the eggplant only. The last and most impressive plate to finish was the dessert presentation board. This is well worth the money if you enjoy sweets and is prepared for 2 servings. The dessert comes served with a flaming Crème brûlée, panna cotta pots, cheese cake, gelato, hazelnut nut mousse, brownie and smoking dry ice with editable meringue.
