We ordered coffees in takeaway cups which were served in mugs. I said to the dude I had asked for a takeaway cup. He said the order-lady must have misheard us and started to take the mug back. I said, ‘I don’t want you to just transfer this to a takeaway cup as it goes slushy.’ He said, ‘It’s your choice bro,’ and walked back to the counter. Okay, firstly, don’t bro me unless ya know me. So I took the mug back and asked for a takeaway, which was then brought to our table. The coffee was actually better than most in this taste-desert of a town. The dude though, is pretty curt and has not got the best table manners.

Staff in the Castletown franchise were extremely rude. I’ve worked in customer service for 6+ years with a majority being in a fast paced restaurant and I’ve never experienced awful service like this. I asked for an iced latte with syrup and oat milk and the lady taking our order seemed extremely annoyed that I couldn’t have a standard iced latte. I understand that we have our off days but when my coffee was delivered to my table it was just kinda dropped down without a single word? I was nothing but polite as my coffee order might seem but its nothing extreme. My almond bread was forgotten about and was dry and not worth the price when I received it.

The crew at Dose are always friendly and welcoming, the service is fast and the coffee and food are amazing! I usually go for the cold brew coffee which is fantastic, the caramel slice is to die for and the pulled chicken turkish is amazing. I usually head here during the week for a quick morning tea when I need a pick me up, can’t recommend enough!

On 1/1 bought soy chicken thinking was chicken made from soy… it wasn’t. Took it back and the lady said I made a mistake, and wouldnt refund me $10. She told me they were a Chinese restraunt (despite serving battered fish and chips), and said they didnt eat veg food in China (white Australian lady named Karen). She gave me bosses number but they never responded. Receiving from the grumpy rude old fogey was the worst part.
