A DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE:

I know 5 stars can be considered a lot but this place deserves it. First off, I grew up eating home-cooked Indian food (from family friends) and going to a place called little India back in the states growing up. I have so long yearned for flavorful Indian food after many good Indian food places unfortunately closed around my area back home. Luckily, this place fulfilled my cravings! The currys were very delicious and spicy – had enough heat but did not cover up the complex layers of spices. My only one critique was the chicken tanadori appetizer was a little dry but again that seasoning! Divine! Service was great and attentive. I really liked how they waited to bring out your main course until you were done with your appetizer. Nice crisp beer too! Would definitely come here again next time I am in Melbourne.

Food was good but what made it 5* was the service. Attentive hosts (young girl and other male FOH staff) who knew exactly what we wanted.

This used to be my regular and I looked forward to returning with a group. From the initial phone booking where the person couldn’t repeat the 4 letters in my name, I was noticing some differences.

Had a team lunch with 4 colleagues and we tried the banquet option so we could share. We were amazed by the speed of service, taste of the food, portions and customer service. This lunch exceeded our expectations and we are experienced indian food lovers who all agreed it was great value and quality. Highly recommended!

I’d heard good things about this place so figured I would give it a go. From the moment we walked in the door until the moment we left, the service was terrible. The young man who works there clearly didn’t want to be there and put no effort into his customer service. We sat and waited for about 5-10 minutes before having to ask for menus (the restaurant was very quiet as it was a mid-week lunch). A couple of us questions some things about the menu yet I was still served something I was assured it wouldn’t be. When I asked for what I had ordered it was made out to be a very big deal and by the time my meal arrive the rest of the group had finished eating. They didn’t prioritise my meal even though it was an error on their end. I received no apology for this. When I received what I asked for I then found a chicken bone in my curry. At this point I was so over complaining I just didn’t eat it.

Curry Vault has a range of great-tasting Indian dishes and curries but prices were very high and portions were small. It wasn’t very busy during the time we visited, but the wait time for the food was almost an hour (and we finished eating everything in 15 minutes). Overall, service in this restaurant was incredibly slow and dishes were not worth the price.

The food is average. Nothing spicy. As a Indian I like to have Indian food but here I will never go back. Butter chicken is too worst. Most food is like having color or frozen food heated up. Saffron rice is good but raita is sweet. Kulfi is good but gulab jamun is like store bought. Chutney is good but super hot.
