Whilst staying close by to Oberon, on our way back to Sydney, we decided to pop in for brunch in this sleepy town at Cafe Oberon. My goodness, it was busy! We took that as a sign that if it’s busy, it must be popular and it must be good. I wouldn’t say it was the place that would blow your socks off but it’s the kind of place that does the job. We ordered an eggs benny and an omelette with the lot, they were both tasty. Everything was also well priced and you didn’t feel like you were being ripped off because it was such a popular joint. To top it off, the coffee, I would say was above average and they knew how to make a well balanced dirty chai! Always a plus in my books!

Food was great. Service was great. We came at a busy time but were disgusted with one thing in particular. The young girls were all doing a great job and so was the barista but the way the owner was speaking was disgusting. Always yelling and never had anything nice to say. All girls were under pressure doing a fantastic job and the boss just was miserable. Not a good atmosphere. The owner needs to do better!

Overall very poor. We waited about 45 mins for a take away omelette and bacon and egg roll. The omelette was pretty pedestrian (see photo) and expensive! Seems like they forgot it so the bacon and egg roll was sitting there cooling off while waiting. We had to ask twice about what was happening. Coffee was pretty dilute. Staff were friendly with the locals but not so with out of towners. To misquote Arnie, “I won’t be back.” If you are visiting Oberon suggest you try one of the other cafes.

Been a little disappointing in this place lately. Third time in a row I’ve ordered to go coffees and people ordering behind me still get their coffees first. It’s more the fact of pleasing the tourist before locals and I went in at 10 ordered and came back at 10:30 still no coffees were made. It’s very fortunate we still have a few other cafes that do amazing coffees. Won’t be wasting my money here again

The atmosphere in this place was vibing. Food was amazing and delicious. Coffee was really gross. I ordered a cappuccino and it had no froth and taste like burnt milk. The young girls were all very nice but could not believe how rude the lady was behind the coffee machine. This cafe is a big hit or miss. Next time I think I’ll just get a milkshake.

It looked really nice. Staff were friendly. But we were after pastry so, this time, we excused ourselves for pies from the bakery across the street. The staff graciously directed us there.
