Welcome to Burnt Sugar Restaurant and Cafe, at Ayr Travellers Motel. Our licensed on-site restaurant offers an exceptional dining experience and our extensive menu features a wide range of dishes to satisfy all cravings.
In addition to being a popular dining destination, Burnt Sugar is the perfect venue for special events, corporate functions, business meetings, or gatherings with family and friends. Our restaurant also doubles as a training or conference centre during the day and our chefs can customize a menu to meet your specific needs and preferences.
We are open for breakfast from 6.30am and dinner from 5.30 pm to 8:30 pm Monday to Saturday, and reservations are essential.

My partner and I went there for dinner on a Friday night. We walked in at 7:40 pm and the waitress said…”let me see if the kitchen is still open”…after 5 minutes, she walked out and walked straight passed us and said “you can sit there” and literally threw the menu on the table. We were shocked but decided to still dine there. We ended up being friendly to the waitress to see if she had a rough day and asked what time do they close ..she replied “whenever the last customer leaves”. It is a pity that our experience was skewed be her stinky attitude at the start. Food wasn’t bad at all but would have hoped to have a better service.

The ambience didn’t really appeal to us and we were a bit skeptical. But the food was really great, great fish and thoughtful combinations – we can definitely recommend this restaurant.
