1 star for the service. Is it common for the bill to be sent to the table less than 5 mins upon completion of dessert and we have not asked for it? It wasn’t a full service and we were about to order some drinks after meal. However, we were not given that option. I have never experienced such service in other restaurants in Australia or other places around the world. I would have definitely left a 4 star review if not for the service. 4 stars for the food but the service was such a disappointment.

This humble photo of some (very delicious) oysters really doesn’t do justice to one of the best meals of my life. The entire menu, including the matching wines was outstanding. The staff were very friendly but not overbearing, the views over the Hobart harbour while the sun was setting couldn’t have been better. Honestly, one of the best meals of my life.

Cannot rate this highly enough. Having said that, Aloft has been the appropriate pinnacle of an amazing Tasmanian dining experience over the last 6 months. Highly recommend sitting at the kitchen high tables. We had an amazing experience speaking with Max and Christian on the menu, life and good food. Sam looked after us from a dining and wine POV and was absolutely fantastic. Cannot wait to come back. Best meal we have had in Australia to date.
