I thought that combination sweet and sour would be just that: sweet and sour. What I experienced was a few bits of meat swimming in a sickly sweet sauce with no contrasting sour note detectable at all, some pineapple and some almost-completely-uncooked vegetables. To be clear, the flavours I picked up were sugar, sugar and more sugar. I had to brush my teeth twice to get rid of the cloying aftertaste.
