Although it was a cold, rainy Melbourne day, out on the terrace the overhead heating made it very pleasant. We tried a selection of dishes including chowder, seafood from the grill and dessert. Everything was delicious, with the whole flathead being particularly popular. While we didn’t try any of the range of steaks this time, they did look delicious as they came past. While at the pricier end for dining, the food didn’t disappoint. If you like seafood and/or charcoal grill, give it a try.

Gorgeous food and great service. Mixed entrees for 2 was the best choice, highly recommend. Sticky date pudding was also delicious. Only negative was they they only had 1/2 rose wines available, so nothing to choose from.

Atmosphere is really good at this place, located in front of the river. They have both inside and outside seating place. Staff was polite and professional. Service was really good, never had to call and remind them of order or anything on the table. Food was really good, they have lot of options in sea food. Overall a good experience.

Absolutely amazing food and service. Special thanks to Georgia for taking such good care of us. Booked ahead on Open Table and since it was our anniversary we were assigned to a cosy corner with spectacular views of the city lights. Highly recommend the red curry whole fish, the cuttlefish starter and fish and chips. I’m sure you can’t go wrong with anything at this place. It’s one of my favourites.

I have been to Waterfront Southgate a few times for dinner and I always enjoyed the food and the service. The restaurant has a great location on the Yarra river, with a beautiful view of the city lights. The menu offers a variety of seafood dishes, as well as steaks, salads, and desserts. The seafood is fresh and cooked to perfection, and the portions are generous. I especially liked the scallops, the oysters, and the Atlantic salmon and leek wellington. The steak was also tender and juicy, and the pear salad was refreshing and tasty. The staff were friendly and attentive, and they made us feel welcome and comfortable. The prices were a bit high, but I think it was worth it for the quality and the atmosphere. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves seafood and wants to have a special night out in Melbourne.
