Great place to eat when u are craving for some masaledar food. I ordered thali and it was a handful. You get to choose 2 veg and 2 non veg. the best one was the butter chicken. It was creamy and rich with good amount of butter and the chicken was well cooked and tasted marvelous. They served butter naan hot and fresh. The gulab jamun was decent but not so fresh. And all this in affordable price. Friendly staff. Surely going to visit them again soon. Any indian food lovers should try this place.

I had a great experience here. My thali was delicious, the lamb and goat were fall off the bone tender and the naan was of a high quality and freshly made. At 18 dollars for 2 veg options and 2 meat options, a pappadam, rice, garlic naan, raita, and dessert this is a very good value as well.

Tucked in the buzzing Old Shanghai corridor, The Proper Indian is all class. The un assuming hole in the wall is one of the first to pass you on your left. My Dhal Makhani was made to order, visible from the shared seating by the service window. Straight from well worn pan to stylish serving dish (contrasting the cafeteria esc plastic serving tray it is distributed on), it was creamy and perfectly balanced with spice and texture. Took alp my strenth not to drink it!
